Arielle J. Peterson
Ms. Peterson began her career in education as a 6th grade English teacher in her placement school with Teach for America New Jersey, before transitioning to a 1st grade teacher at a turnaround school. After her experience as a Teach for America corps member, Ms. Peterson worked as a corps member advisor at the Philadelphia Institute. There she served as an academic advisor for 16 corps members centered on lower elementary instruction. Soon after, Ms. Peterson worked for the Office of Special Education at Newark Public Schools, providing professional development and consulting teachers on the development and execution of IEPs in Early Childhood. During this work Ms. Peterson was motivated to earn her Masters in Education Administration to have a greater impact on educational inequity. Fueled by her conviction to ensure educational access for all students, Ms. Peterson was led to apply and was accepted to the highly-selective Building Excellent Schools Fellowship. She has completed a leadership residency at Laureate Academy Charter School in Harvey, Louisiana. Ms. Peterson holds a BA in Psychology from Spelman College, and a MA in Education Administration from Caldwell University.
